Live Music Friday and Saturday Nights at California Organics Market & Cafe

NEVADA CITY, Calif. July 17, 2013 - For the last year, California Organics Market and Cafe has featured free live local music ever Friday and Saturday night in the cafe. The casual, family-friendly setting has attracted a burgeoning scene of music lovers and foodies that faithfully come out every weekend to see local music acts such as Juliet Gobert, Ishaan Judd, Catherine Scholz, The Free Range String Band, Blackbird Quartet, and more.
Organizing the live music nights is Karen Carchidi. Carchidi's roots of supporting and working with local bands runs deep. In the past she has worked at KVMR as an event coordinator organizing the KVMR Celtic Festival, KDVS in Davis booking the popular Live in Studio A program, and at Putumayo World Music before working at California Organics.
"It's in my blood," explains Carchidi. "I've always wanted my own cafe to showcase new artists in an intimate and supportive setting."
Carchidi books mostly acoustic or string bands and on special occasion blues and rock bands. In the case of Bob Mora's Retirement Party last month, over one hundred friends and fans from the community came out to enjoy Mora and friends perform.
"We are giving our regular shoppers and those who have never been to the store or restaurant a reason to stop by and see what is going on," says Carchidi. "But most importantly we are building community around great food and music."
This weekend at the Cafe, American folk rock singer-songwriter Ishaan Judd will perform Friday night and folk trip-hop artist Chloe Day will perform Saturday night. For a full calendar of performers go to www.californiaorganics.com.

iPhone 6 Release Date Aftermath: Apple, Samsung to Collaborate in Developing 14nm A9 Chips for 2015 iPhone & iPad Models
Immediately following the purported iPhone 6 release date in early 2014, Apple will begin the development works to produce the superfast A9 processing chips with an unlikely partner - Samsung.
The deal between the two arch-foes has been finalised Sunday, according to MacRumors, paving the way for a partnership that will produce the CPUs Apple will use on its 2015 iOS device lineup.
Citing reports from the Korea Economic Daily, the Apple-centric tech site revealed that once again, Samsung will play a major role in Apple's chip architecture roadmap, specifically in designing and mass producing A9 chips that will be based on a 14-nanometre process node.
It is understood that the agreement will officially commence on 2015, setting the stage for the production of A9-powered devices that Apple would likely name as iPhone 7, iPad 6 and iPad Mini 3.
No specific details were provided by the Korean publication but basing on prevailing industry trend, it is expected that A9 chips will boost the capabilities currently displayed by iOS-powered gadgets with a major premium - longer battery hours.
It is unclear at the moment if the new Apple-Samsung partnership will supersede that of the earlier joint-venture that Apple has reportedly sealed with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC).
Apple has contracted TSMC to produce its A-series chip requirements for the next three years beginning in 2014, thus overlapping with that of the alleged Samsung contract.
It is likely that the two deals will co-exist, MacRumors said, which is in line with the research note recently issued by KGI Securities analyst Ming-chi Kuo. In that note, Mr Kuo wrote that Apple is diversifying its iOS supply chain to improve both delivery time and quality.
Some analysts, however, read the report as indication of Apple's intent ease out Samsung from its iOS supply landscape. Yet the new development seems to belie such contention.
At present, Samsung remains a major supplier Apple supplier - providing the Retina display panel that will be installed on the upcoming iPad 5, which reportedly is set for a release date between September and October.
Samsung is also believed working with Sharp and LG Display in producing the high-resolution tablet screen for the iPad Mini 2, the launch of which will be delayed until January 2014.
Lastly, the South Korean tech giant will likely deliver the Retina display panel that Apple will use on its rumoured 5.7-inch iPhone 6, its release date possibly to occur between the months of January and March next year.
